Fenimore Asset Management is an independent investment advisory firm located in the rural, upstate New York town of Cobleskill. Founded in 1974 by Thomas Putnam, our firm successfully manages money using a value approach with special attention to personal relationships.

Fenimore Asset Management began by managing structured portfolios for individuals and institutional accounts. Over the years, our business has grown in large part through referrals from existing clients. Today, we manage approximately 400 relationships throughout the United States. Our clients include high net worth individuals, trusts, endowments, foundations, retirement plans, and Taft-Hartley accounts.

After many years of successfully managing separate account portfolios, Fenimore Asset Management expanded its investment offerings to include mutual funds. The FAM Value Fund (1987) and FAM Equity-Income Fund (1996) both offer investors a concentrated portfolio of stocks selected according to our value criteria and superior personalized shareholder services.
