A Tradition of Giving
Since our inception, Fenimore has been passionate about helping those in need and investing in the community.
FAM 5K "Fund" Run/Walk
Since 1994, Fenimore has held its annual FAM 5K “Fund” Run/Walk for charity each September. The event has grown to more than 800 registrants and nearly 200 volunteers. It demonstrates our associates’ commitment to the community and is a fun-filled, memorable day in the spirit of family, health, and charity. Each year the proceeds from the race are donated to one of five different local charities on a rotating basis: Catholic Charities of Delaware, Otsego, and Schoharie Counties; Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care; Schoharie County ARC; Schoharie County Community Action Program; and Cobleskill Regional Hospital (Bassett Healthcare Network).
Fenimore and its associates also donate significant human and financial resources to a variety of nonprofit organizations and worthy causes throughout the Capital Region and beyond. They include:
Arkell Hall Museum and Library; Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady; City Mission of Schenectady; Cobleskill-Richmondville Education Foundation; Elizabethtown College; Estate Planning Council of Eastern New York; Family and Child Service of Schenectady; Fenimore Fore Youth; First Presbyterian Church of Schenectady; First Reformed Church of Schenectady; Glimmerglass Festival; Guideposts; Guideposts Foundation; Millbrook School; New York Council of Nonprofits; New York State Historical Association (Fenimore Art Museum); Northeast Parent & Child Society; Proctors Theater; Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York; Ronald McDonald House; RPI; SALT (Schoharie Area Long Term); Schenectady Military Affairs Council (SMAC); Schoharie County ARC; Schoharie Reformed Church; Schoharie Village; Siena College; Union College; and University at Albany.
